This course will provide outdoor practical experiences that explore some of the natural materials and stimulus that the Pelham Centre for Environmental Education and the Daws Hall Reserve can offer.
Course Content:
Exlore and develop ideas. Investigate and make art, craft and design from natural materials.
Evaluate and develop work.
Understand the visual and tactile elements of materials.
Work in two and three dimensions.
Work on large scale creations.
Work alone and in groups.
Activities:
Collecting materials to create collage/craftwork
Using large pieces of wood, bark and leaves to form a large scale model or picture
Sketching from close observatiion of plants or invertebrates from the environment
Discussing emotions and feelings of different sites
Creating imaginative mud scultures
Looking at the landscape as represented by Gainsborough and Constable

Duration:
This can be a full or half day unit and can take place throughout the year. It combines well with other half day courses.
