First Aid Courses

Essex Outdoors can provide a variety of fully certified training courses tailored to suit your personal requirements or the needs of your group or organisation.

Our courses are delivered by our highly knowledgeable and experienced team and combine practical and hands on learning with classroom sessions which include plenty of activity to keep the mind and body busy.

Courses can be run either at our centre at Mersea, or at your place of work by arrangement.

Emergency First Aid at Work (1 day)

A practical course covering all the topics specified by the Health & Safety Executive as necessary for the Emergency First Aid course.
Price: £68.50 per person
Dates: 18 October and 2 November 2010

Outdoor First Aid Course (1 day)

Suitable for all D of E leaders and the Basic Expedition Leaders Award
Price: £50 per person
Dates: 1 November

We can also deliver First Aid courses aimed at Duke of Edinburgh's Award participants

Outdoor First Aid Course (2 day)

Suitable for Walking Group Leader and Mountain Leader qualifications
Price: £90.00 per person

Paediatric First Aid (OFSTED recognised)

This two-day course covers all the topics required by OFSTED for the Early Years/Foundation stage. Essential for child minders, nursery workers, teachers and anybody working with children.

Dates: 19/20 October, 15/16 November 2010

Also available: Outdoor Paediatric First Aid for those working outdoors with children, including Forest School Leaders and Assistants.

First Aid at Work HSE Course (3 days)

A three-day course covering all the topics specified by the Health & Safety Executive for the HSE First Aid at Work certificate. The first two days are spent learning all aspects of First Aid in the workplace; the third day is spent consolidating learning; and assessment. Price includes a free 3-hour update one year later!

FAW Refresher course (2 days)

A two-day First Aid at Work Refresher course is also available for anyone needing to update their First Aid at Work qualification.

RYA First Aid (1 day)

This one-day course is designed to provide a working knowledge of first aid for people using small craft and to support skippers. It is aimed at anyone who goes afloat, whether on inland waters, rivers, estuaries or on cross channel passages.
