3 to 15 August 2010
International Camp has been running for 60 years and has a reputation for establishing life long friendships between young people of 16 to 21 years of age from different nationalities.
In 2008, the 60th year of the camp, there were young people from China, England, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the Ukraine. Previous camps have also hosted young people from Estonia, Ireland, Poland and Turkey.
The camp brings together over 250 young people with the aims of sharing cultures and encouraging intercultural relations as well as improving self esteem and confidence in young people and having fun.
During the camp the young people take part in a two-week programme of adventurous activities, workshops, off site visits and evening entertainment. It is just the place to spend the summer if you would like to experience the unique blend of culture and activity, with the chance to brush up on your language skills.
Join us for the opportunity to meet with other young people from all over the world. Take part in a busy entertaining and fun programme of activities and cultural events.
Service Team Opportunities
Each year we have a Service Team of Essex young people who carry out various duties throughout the programme. But this doesn't mean that they miss out on any of the fun! Duties can include helping Village Leaders deliver activities, preparing the entertainment areas or running the dining room. This experience can also be used for participants to gain the residential section for the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. Service Team members pay a subsidised camp fee.
