Walking Group Leader (WGL)

The WGL is the basic national award for leaders wishing to take young people out into non-mountainous open countryside such as upland, moors, hills fens and downs.

1) Training

Our three-day training course will provide you with all the skills you need to lead parties in this often-challenging terrain.

2) Assessment

The three-day assessment course covers all the requirements set down by Mountain Leader Training UK in the WGL syllabus.

Summer Mountain Leader (ML)

This course provides the opportunity for potential mountain leaders to gain technical competence in leading walkers in the UK hills and mountains in summer conditions. The course is delivered in two sections;

1) Training
