She Who Dares

She Who Dares is a women only group who meet once a week on Wednesday mornings in term time to explore outdoor pursuits. We run a wide variety of activities, including: sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, climbing, abseiling, high ropes, orienteering, walks, cycles, nature reserve visits and more. Most are held at outdoor pursuits centres with qualified staff and other local venues. We have just been successful in securing a grant from Essex Community Foundation, which will enable us to keep going.

The group was formed about 20 years ago and now women of all ages and abilities meet each week to take part in new and exciting challenges they may not have considered before.

Many women join the group once their children have started nursery or school. Some once they have retired. (Some to avoid the housework!) But most join to experience a real buzz from the great sense of achievement, exhilaration and team spirit the sessions can bring.

Sessions cost £8 a head, and run from 9.30 to 12.30. Bring a change of clothes and a sense of determination and humour! Wet suit hire is available at a small charge at Harlow; ESSA has wet suits on site.

10th November 2010- Intro to climbing on Indoor Climbing Wall.

17th November 2010- Climbing Skills on indoor climbing wall.

other activities will be:

First Wednesday of every month – wet activities (Sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking) at Enfield Scouts Sailing Association, Nazeing.
