This two day course provides the indoor climber with the opportunity to experience climbing on real rock and progress to seconding climbs. Participants should:
- Be able to put on a harness
- Tie onto a rope and belay
- Want to build on skills to progress from indoor wall climbing to outdoor rock climbing.
The Venue
The Peak District is arguably the centre of English rock climbing and boasts some of the finest climbs you will encounter in the UK. The grit-stone outcrops, which are unique to the Pennine region provide an ideal venue for climbers taking their first steps on real rock and provide plenty of scope for the indoor climber looking to acquire the skills to climb on single pitch crags.
The exact venues for each day will be decided nearer the time, based on prevailing conditions and the groups’ aspirations. Grit-stone is a rough rock providing plenty of friction for hands and feet and therefore can be climbed in all weather conditions.
Instructional Staff
Our instructors are qualified and experienced climbers with an excellent knowledge of the sport. They have a great depth of experience instructing novices and experts and will be keen to pass on that knowledge to you. Our low staff to student ratio allows you to progress at your own pace and get the most from the course.
