At Essex Outdoors we believe passionately in the power of outdoor education.
Taking the classroom outdoors can broaden horizons, promote positive values, and develop confidence and self-esteem. Outdoor learning can also raise social and environmental awareness.
The power of outdoor learning is now well-recognised by the government, via its outdoor learning manifesto, and the subsequent launch of its Learning Outside the Classroom initiative. Essex Outdoors welcomes and supports these initiatives.
Participants who have been involved with outdoor learning are often exhilarated by the experience of achieving their goals and having successfully worked outside of their comfort zone. This provides them with the confidence to tackle uncertainty and challenges elsewhere in their personal, school and working lives, thereby realising more of their potential.
